Hooray for your first lamb! Is she going to be emsket (modified black), or is that just the an effect of the lighting in this photo? I am watching for lambs every day now, but I expect that I have another week or so to wait.
CONGRATS PEEPS! BUT WHAT THE HECK, a SOLID lamb? LOL such is luck huh? she sure is a cutie! I can't wait to see the babies that will come from your girls here....I'm expecting lots of spots! :)
I started raising shetland sheep in 1999, it is an addiction...I have lots of favorite ewes, and some rams, and lots and lots of lambs.
I was always excited about spotted sheep...so that's what I like to raise.
I have lived as an artist, an antique dealer, a caregiver, an archeologist, and a shepherd.
I have a patient loving husband, and three extraordinary children. I'm lucky enough to be living waaaay out in the woods of the Ozarks...with few neighbors, miles away, and lots of sheep. Three dogs, 9 cats, and molly the goose.

Congratulations! Are you really going to name her Spring? I think that would be perfect, especially after your unreasonably harsh winter.
Congratulations! She's a beauty....a sure sign spring really is on it's way.
Best of luck for a wonderful lambing season. It will be a month before our lambs start arriving.
